Season 3 Idea to make progression slower

Firstly, I do NOT hate P2W players. I understand that the server is only up and running because of these people spending their money. But many people hate the fact that P2W players almost always end up being /istop.

Thus, to stop this from happening, a new system to the way island levels work should be implemented.

My idea is to have requirements to upgrade the island level other than stars. This means that island upgrades will require you to pay stars AND have something else done. This could include (Example given in brackets)
- Number of Auto-Chests placed (2 Auto Chests placed to upgrade to island level 15)
- Number of a certain type of Ore Seed / Spawner placed (12 Diamond Ore Seeds placed to upgrade to island level 18)
- Number of robots placed (2 Grinder Bots to upgrade to island level 12)
- Skill XP (12,500,000 Skill XP to upgrade to island level 16) BEST
- Number of a certain ore mined / mob killed (100,000 Bats killed to upgrade to island level 21)
- Number of Warzone Chests looted (100 Warzone Chests looted to upgrade to island level 13)

I like the skill xp idea, however everything else can be bought by /ah which doesn't really stop p2w. Also is level really isn't that important this season (kinda sucks but oh well).

I mean, you could easily purchase the items you suggest having with stars, which wouldnt help the P2W issue we are seeing. I would like to say I dont think there really is an issue with it, but I can understand how some people think there is one. At the end of the day, its a game, the people who are able to invest more time and money into both the game and setup are going to be ahead of those who dont. its just life.

I don't think there's any action they can take to possibly prevent P2W. Out of all of the ideas you gave only the one with 12mil skill XP could be a possibility. the others they can easily just buy it from other players.

There is some ways 12m total skill xp is 1 could focus the is levels to all require certain amount of spacific things grinded total skill exp amount of wz chests looted ect essentially have all the is lvls gameplay based and not star based

i mean, adding this could be cool but i don't think it would change much about those who progress fast and the overall ranking. Those on top automatically have more auto chests, nodes, spawners, robots etc. And because of that their skill goes up, which also means that they have killed more mobs, mined more ores etc.

And why not if its all gameplay related then istop is truely earned and not bought
Also, i know you fight for those who - in your words - are not as "elite" as the top island. Sure it is noble, but trashing those who are on top doesn't help your case

Interesting concept however, the entire point of having a shop for p2w players is that it gives them an advantage over other players. If p2w didn’t give players a boost over f2p players, no one would be buying anything.

A lot of your examples here if added would actually makes it easier for p2w players with ranks vs. f2p players. Each rank has their different kit which comes with ore seeds, spawners and warzone loot. Your example would cause hoarding of resources within the p2w groups or the pricing of resources would skyrocket. As an example your skill xp and war zone chests looted are pretty much the only examples of other requirements that don’t involve p2w. Since you can’t get those from kits.

I dont think adding this would change much, the top islands will still be on top. The top islands also have dedicated teams who grind constantly. Thus meaning that they will inevitably have more stuff. I think this would backfire and make it harder for maller f2p teams than to limit the growth of p2w top islands.

I don't believe that p2w will ever not exist because the server needs to stay alive. The server right now is pretty grindy right now and you pretty much want to make it worse for less p2w. I think this would make it so less people want to play the server.

It's nothing something they can easily balance. anything you do to slow down top islands by any significant amount is going to utterly ruin smaller islands.

Yeah p2w has to be on the server, it allows f2p players to actually play. Yes it does give people a slight advantage but as others said, if it didn't give some kind of edge to it, then no one would actually buy anything. The server itself is pretty grindey in general as well, so I mean even with some p2w things, players still have to grind a buttload to get to places to be able to use those high tier resources/ores/crops

p2w would be a big issue with this template, I think its good the way it is how you actually have to -grind- for any skill XP. Fishing was implemented to slow down progression as well
