This is a rather thorough guide to conduits. Texts in green are locations(or quotes), texts in yellow are special items/things, texts in purple are special tasks, underlined texts are headers, and texts in bold are most important. Also, italicized texts are terms that I made up, to make explaining things easier.

If I'm missing anything important in this post, or if anything is wrong, tell me!

In Skybounds update #7, the Tech Shop quest and Conduit was added. To purchase conduits, you must complete the tech shop quest.

    The Quest
To begin the tech shop quest, go to the tech shop at the spawn market. It is located at X=173 Y=107 Z=68. Click on the tech shop guy and accept his quest.

You will first need to mine 240 iron and 60 gold, AND bring those items to him. These ores can be mined anywhere. Go and talk to the tech shop guy(with the items in your inventory), and he will take them and give you an Uncharged Neuron Enhancer(a hat).

You will then need to kill 120 blazes while wearing the hat. Again, these can be killed anywhere. Return to the tech shop guy(with the hat), and he will make it into a Charged Neuron Enhancer(a hat).

You will then need to go to the highest location in the warzone while wearing the hat, and get struck by lightning there. This location is to the left of the waterfall parkour, and has the coordinates X=58 Y=179 Z=-221. To get struck by lightning there, all you need to do is stand there(it shouldn't take long). You'll receive a chat message when you get struck. After this, return to the tech shop guy, talk to him, and you'll have the tech shop unlocked(at the market and in /shop).

    Conduits:
Conduits can be purchased on the tech shop for 125,000 stars. They are a customized skull item, and can be placed wherever you want on your island. They have 2 main purposes that I can think of: as a (faster) replacement to hopper chains, and as item filters.

Conduits can interact with each other and with hoppers.

    Hopper interactions:
Conduits do not interact with hoppers placed on the sides of them. If a hopper is placed below the conduit, the hopper will take items from the conduit. If a hopper is placed above the conduit(the hopper can face in any direction), the conduit will take the items from the hopper. However, if you haven't set the conduit's filter yet, it won't take anything from the hopper(it'll be completely useless). You can set the conduit's filter in its menu.

When you place a conduit and click on it, you'll open its menu, which is much like an auto-chest's. The items listed in the conduit's menu are the ones that it will take from the hopper above it(or other conduits, which will be explained later). Simply click on an item in your inventory to add that item to the conduit's menu. Shift click an item in the conduit's menu to remove it from the menu.

If you have set the conduit's filter properly, you should see that your selected items will go from the hopper above the conduit, to the one below it.

    Conduit Interactions:
As mentioned, conduits interact with each other. They can take items from/give items to other conduits.

This is rather basic. Place the conduit that you want to be the giving conduit(the one giving the items to other conduits). Then, click on it with another conduit. The chat should read, "Selected linked conduit, place down current conduit within 15s to proceed!" A line of particles should also show up between the placed conduit(giving conduit) and your crosshair. You now want to place the receiving conduit(the conduit that receives items from other conduits). If the line of particles is green, you can place the conduit down, and it will receive items from the giving conduit. If the line of particles is red, it will not. the maximum conduit range is about 5 blocks.

Once you have placed a receiving conduit in range of the giving conduit, you want to make sure that the receiving conduit's filter accepts the items that you want it to accept. Open the receiving conduit's menu to select these items. When a conduit receives items from another conduit, a purple particle line should show up between them. If this shows up, you have set the conduits up correctly.

A conduit can be both a giving conduit and a receiving conduit. Multiple receiving conduits can connect to one giving conduit. Only one giving conduit can connect to a receiving conduit(due to how connecting conduits works).

Conduit Chains(A replacement for hopper chains):
As stated above, a conduit that receives items from one conduit can also accept items from another conduit(it can be both a receiving conduit and a giving conduit). So, you can easily create conduit chains(a series of conduits that transfer items from one place to a different place, over a large distance) by repeating the conduit connecting process described in the "Conduit Interactions" section(You can make conduit 1 give to conduit 2, conduit 2 give to conduit 3, etc).

Conduit Filters(A replacement for redstone-hopper filters):
If you make one conduit(the soon to be giving conduit) accept several different items, and then have several conduits around it(receiving conduits) each receive one item from that giving conduit, the items will be filtered according to which conduit receives which item.

If this doesn't make sense, look at the image attached: the conduit with a hopper above it accepts raw chicken, sweetberries, and fox pelts. The leftmost conduit with a hopper under it receives raw chicken only, so the hopper under it receives raw chicken only. The middle conduit with a hopper under it receives sweetberries only, so the hopper under it receives sweetberries only. The rightmost conduit with a hopper under it receives fox pelts only, so the hopper under it receives fox pelts only.

After having explained this a few times to friends, I thought it would be helpful to create a video explaining a few things I know about how to use the new conduits. I'm a noob when it comes to creating videos, so please excuse the lack of editing & refinements to my video. Also, sorry for the crackly sound the first second or two, I didn't realize it until after it was uploaded & I don't know how to edit it, plus it took me over an hour to upload it (slow internet). I do hope this video is helpful to players who might have questions about how to use the conduits.

I have another video that I uploaded to youtube yesterday that is similar but basically with no audio, just me typing in island chat explaining things as I go. It's there if anyone wants to search for it. There is a funny moment or two in it, but it's kind of boring without sound.

So here is the one I made today. Enjoy and hope this helps. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Awesome guide but i think that having a video that shows how to set up conduit system would be helpful.
I made a video like that, it's on the forums here somewhere.

One of the worst things about conduits is that they make my brain hurt from concentrating so hard to make sure I don't mess things up, especially if what I'm doing involves more than just a few conduits. I redid something on our island recently that used over a stack of conduits. It was very nerve-wracking. If I had messed up somewhere along the way, it would have been impossible to tell where and I would have had to start all over, and conduits are a pain to pick back up.
